Wildcat Mountain State Park Wedding | Mary + Casey
Let me introduce you to Mary and Casey! They were both working for Walgreens when they met….but not at the same store. Mary was a pharmacy tech at one location and Casey was the store manager at a different one. Funnily enough, when Casey wasn’t working he drove out of his way to stop at Mary’s store location, purchase items and say ‘hey.’ Casey finally asked Mary out on a date after they spent some time together on a camping trip. A few years later, Casey proposed and the rest is history!
Mary and Casey initially planned to get married in October 2020 at Terrace 167. However, when the pandemic hit they had to adjust their plans. From plan A to plan B to plan C, they finally decided to host an intimate destination wedding at Wildcat Mountain State Park in Ontario, Wisconsin.
On the morning of their wedding, Mary and Casey woke up in separate cabins and started getting ready at a place called Birch Lake Getaway. Their morning was very fun and relaxing, but you could tell that Mary was SO excited and nervous about all the day’s events.
Once he got the ‘okay,’ Casey walked to the end of a dock overlooking the property’s private lake. Once he was in place, Mary walked outside and down the dock to meet him for a first look. After turning around to see his bride, Casey immediately went in and gave Mary the biggest hug!
After that, Mary had a heartwarming first look with her father and we took a few photos. Then, it was time to head to Wildcat Mountain!
Mary and Casey reserved the amphitheater at Wildcat Mountain for their intimate ceremony. As you can see from the photos below, the amphitheater sits at the top of a bluff and has an amazing view of the surrounding hills and valleys.
Shortly before 1:00 pm all of their immediate family members and close friends started to arrive, grab blankets, and settle in for the main event.
My favorite part of their ceremony was when they did a unity whiskey barrel. In its original Gaelic form, Whiskey translates to ‘water of life.’ Therefore, in order to symbolize the joining of their two lives, they combined two un-aged liquors into a small oak barrel. Over time, they will develop into a flavorful and awesome whiskey (similar to their awesome marriage).
Post-ceremony, Mary and Casey celebrated with their family and friends at a restaurant called Rooted Spoon in Viroqua, Wisconsin. The guests, food, speeches, and atmosphere were all amazing!
Overall, it was a truly awesome day to be a part of and document. Thank you, Mary and Casey for inviting Grace Creatives along. <3
