Why Should You Attend A Dinner On A Farm?
Dinner on a Farm? Count me in! At the beginning of June, I had the wonderful opportunity to view and capture a four-course dinner being served at Willoway Farm in Ozaukee County, WI. We all know that there are wonderful advantages of an average Saturday date night, but I am here to share all of my reasons why a Saturday date night ON A FARM is that much more beneficial.
YOU GET TO BE OUTSIDE!
Let’s face it, folks, these days you have to take the time to disconnect and get outside otherwise it is not going to happen. Therefore, dinner on a farm is a great way to enjoy the great outdoors while fulfilling your basic need for food. Researchers have proven that spending time outside has extensive positive effects on your mental and physical health. Henceforth, being in nature not only provides you with close proximity to fresh air but also allows you to breathe a little bit easier….literally.
YOU GET TO SUPPORT THE LOCAL ECONOMY!
Farm owners are not only your neighbors, but they are also hard workers who are passionate about the community you live in. When you support your local farmers, you are supporting their mission to grow food and/or flowers for other local shops, restaurants, and friends! When you support one business, you choose to support them all!
YOU GET TO EAT FARM. FRESH. FOOD!
One word: Yum! Willoway farm refuses to use toxic substances and GMO materials in order to help their plants grow. This means that when you attend a dinner at their farm or purchase some of their food, you are able to fuel your body with clean and wholesome ingredients. Not only do these practices benefit the surrounding ecosystem, but they also add incredible value to your quality of life.
YOU GET TO MEET OTHER SWEET PEOPLE!
At a dinner on the farm, everyone is in the same place at the same time. The atmosphere allows you to sit down, share stories, and enjoy a meal with others. It’s almost too difficult to try and not make a connection with someone.
If you are interested in finding a wonderful new dining experience, my suggestion is to attend a local dinner on a farm. Willoway Farm in Fredonia, WI offers this type of experience almost every year. More information can be found on their website: https://www.willowayfarm.com/
