A Chic, Modern September Wedding in Downtown Milwaukee | Megan + Kevin

A Chic, Modern Wedding in Downtown Milwaukee

When it comes to planning a wedding, there’s always a mix of excitement, anticipation, and sometimes a little bit of risk. But for one couple, taking that leap of faith led them to a stunning celebration in Milwaukee, Wisconsin—at a venue they’d booked sight unseen. Their journey from Austin to Denver, their surprise proposal in Breckenridge, and now a beautiful wedding day at the industrial-chic Plant No. 4 are all pieces of a love story that’s nothing short of magical.

From Austin to Denver: A Journey That Started at Work

Their relationship all began seven years ago in Austin, Texas, where the couple first met while working together. In a city known for its creativity and vibrancy, the spark between them quickly grew from a professional relationship to something much more. They spent four years in Austin, a city that would forever hold a special place in their hearts, before relocating to Denver to start a new chapter.

Throughout their relationship, they’d always embraced new adventures and the surprises that life had to offer. So, when it came time to plan their wedding, it only felt natural to continue that tradition.

Fast forward to February, when Kevin planned a romantic getaway to Breckenridge, Colorado. Although the bride-to-be had picked out the ring herself (with some input from Kevin), she was convinced that the proposal would take place back in Austin. After all, that’s where it all began, right? Kevin had other plans.

Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, Kevin led his fiancée to the rooftop at Peak 8. With stunning panoramic views of the peaks as their backdrop, he got down on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. It was intimate, breathtaking, and completely unexpected. A photographer was there to capture the moment, and the whole experience felt like something out of a dream.

Plant No. 4: Booking the Venue Without Seeing It

Once the couple started planning their wedding, they knew they wanted a venue that reflected their style and love story—something modern, industrial, and unique. Enter Plant No. 4 in Milwaukee.

They booked the venue without ever stepping foot inside. While some might call it a leap of faith, for this couple, it was just another step in their journey of trusting the process. They were drawn to the industrial charm and modern elegance of the space, and they knew it was the perfect place to celebrate their wedding.

Their wedding day in September 2024 turned out to be absolutely perfect—bright and sunny, with the kind of weather you’d want for a day full of love and celebration. The couple had a clear vision for the day, blending chic, modern, and industrial elements into their wedding décor. The color palette was a stunning combination of tans, neutrals, and dark blue accents, creating a sophisticated and timeless look. One of the standout features of the décor? Candlesticks—lots of them—adding a soft, romantic glow to the venue as the evening unfolded.

A Sweet Ending: Kopps Ice Cream & Live Music

As the evening wore on, the couple wanted to do something special and unexpected to cap off their big day. Enter Kopps ice cream—a Milwaukee staple that’s known for its decadent flavors and creamy texture. After all the formalities and wedding festivities, indulging in a sweet treat with loved ones was the perfect way to end the evening.

But the surprises didn’t stop there. The couple danced the night away to live music from Livin the Dream / ACA Entertainment, making sure their guests had as much fun as they did. It was an unforgettable celebration filled with love, laughter, and plenty of dancing.

A Day They’ll Never Forget

From booking a venue sight unseen to saying “I do” in a chic, industrial space and ending the night with ice cream and live music, this couple’s wedding day was truly one for the books. It was a day that perfectly reflected their adventurous spirit, their love for one another, and the incredible journey they’ve been on since they first met in Austin.

Their wedding at Plant No. 4 in Milwaukee was everything they had hoped for—and more. It was a celebration of love, life, and the beautiful surprises that come with taking chances together.
