Adventurous Family Session at Devil’s Lake State Park

Family photos at Devils lake State Park

Jackie (with Jwild Photography) and I have worked together on multiple projects and during several occasions. One dream that we share is to one day capture a wedding day elopement at Devil’s Lake State Park. Therefore, it is only natural that we often discuss different areas of the park that would be great for this type of session.

During the safer-at-home order, almost all of Wisconsin’s State Parks closed…including Devil’s Lake State Park. Later in June, after the parks reopened, we were all quarantined and ready to explore outdoors (at a safe distance) once again. Therefore, Jackie and I came up with a plan to location scout and exchange a few family photos.

Our families met-up at a parking lot on the south side of the park and hiked along the East Bluff Trail. There were several awesome overlooks and places to view the surrounding nature. These overlooks became the best backdrops for a few family photos.

As always, I love photographing sessions at Devils Lake State Park in Wisconsin. As mentioned, it’s one of my dreams to photograph a Devils Lake elopement or engagement session. Traveling to a state park is ALWAYS an option when brainstorming different locations for your photo session. Be sure to reach out today and let me know if you and your family or significant other would like to book a photo session at Devils Lake State Park with Grace Creatives.
